J.P. Parise


J.P. Parise played 14 seasons in the NHL (1965-79) for Boston, Toronto, Minnesota, the New York Islanders and Cleveland recording 594 points and 706 penalty minutes in 890 games. He was a two-time NHL All-Star (1970, 1973) and played for Canada in the 1972 Summit Series. At the time of his retirement, the hard-working left winger was the North Stars’ all-time leader in assists, ranked second in points, third in goals and fifth in games played. Following his playing career Parise served as a coach in the North Stars organization (1980-88). He also coached and was hockey director at Shattuck-Saint Mary’s in Faribault, Minn., and spent the 2008-09 season as Head Coach and General Manager of the Des Moines Buccaneers of the United States Hockey League.
